In 2014 Appleton launched her first rug collection with then kM partner Bachman Brown Clem and Inigo Elizalde Studio. The collection (titled kinder GROUND) at ICFF (& won the 2014 ASID Best in Flooring at the show) and was the first geometric modular, luxury carpet system. With 37 designs and three shapes (hexagons, triangles and diamonds) the non-traditional configuration possibilities were endless and the architecture and design industry took notice.

Handmade with 100% New Zealand Wool and incredibly durable, the sophisticated designs and sustainable production, offered beautiful textiles for contract and residential use, including luxury area rugs and spectacular wall-to-wall options. The following season Appleton expanded the collection to full sizes including her sought after lozenge, honeycomb and many more. The rugs have been shown at IDS Toronto, ICFF, AD Home among others.
